Frequently asked questions
Is your pest control work guaranteed?

Absolutely. We have a customer satisfaction guarantee, and as members of the British Pest Control Association we abide by the BPCA Codes of Practice and Code of Conduct. This rigorous accreditation scheme ensures that our staff are properly trained and qualified in the BPCA/RSPH (Level 2) Award in Pest Management and members of a Continuing Professional Development scheme. We also hold Public and Products Liability Insurance to the value of £2million.

If at any stage you’re dissatisfied with the pest control work we’ve carried out, we’ll do whatever we can to make sure you’re happy with the results.

Do you offer free pest control quotes?

All our quotations are free of charge and without any obligation. We’ll come to your premises or home and make an initial survey of the problem, before outlining a recommended course of action at a fixed price. Our written quotes are valid for 28 days from the date of issue.

Is your pest control work pet and child safe?

We use traditional yet effective methods of pest control, the vast majority of which are pet and child friendly. However, there are some instances where children and animals must be kept away from the active treatment phase of an infestation, as the pest control methods used may involve harmful chemicals. Our technicians are trained to bring the highest level of safety to our customers, and you can feel reassured that you and your family will be in safe, professional hands.

How do I find my local Wessex Pest Control technician?

If you’re troubled by an established infestation, we're here to help. The majority of pests that we deal with will cause progressive damage and health hazards - no job is too big or too small, so if you’re concerned about pests from rats to rabbits, birds to bed bugs or foxes to flies, give us a call now on 023 8066 0861.

Are chemical insecticides the only treatment for cockroach infestation?

Cockroaches love to hide in hard-to-reach crevices, and can be difficult to eradicate. A cockroach infestation must be treated professionally to prevent contamination and the spread of food poisoning illnesses.

There are several steps to eliminating cockroaches. After an initial survey, it’s important to remove any sources of food and water for the cockroaches, so encourage them to become more active in their search and increase the probability of contact with insecticides. These insecticides should be placed where the cockroaches hide, applied regularly throughout their lifecycle and then on a weekly basis. Sticky traps are useful to site in and around large appliances (eg kitchen or boiler room equipment), pipes and electrical ducts.

We were very pleased with the efficiency with which Wessex Pest Control cleared an infestation of wasps in our bathroom - not one sting!

We have been very impressed with the service provided by Toby of Wessex Pest Control - he has had to deal with rats, wasps and woodworm in a very short space of time! Thankfully everything has gone and we currently have a peaceful business.
